My FBA Journey & Insights

I didn’t enter the world of Amazon FBA looking for a quick win - I was looking to build something long-term. After getting fired from a sales job (ironically, for not selling anything), I started looking for my next opportunity. I threw myself into learning about SEO, e-commerce, and online business models, and that’s when I first came across Amazon FBA.

I jumped in, set up my first business, created an Amazon account, and started buying leads. At first, it worked. But as competition grew, I realised relying on leads from others wasn’t sustainable.

Experienced sellers kept telling me, “You NEED to learn sourcing to make this work.” But no one ever explained how. The advice was always vague - just “persevere” and “find what others don’t.” I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when I actively started seeking out other sellers and communities. I wanted real guidance from people who had been through it, not just generic advice. Over time, I connected with the other Navigators, built strong relationships, and saw first-hand how much faster I could grow my business when I had the right people around me.

Now, I’m passionate about helping other sellers avoid the struggles I faced - by providing real, actionable guidance that cuts through the noise.

My Amazon Journey

I’ll set the scene:

After getting fired from a sales job (for not selling anything), I started looking into my next steps - throwing myself into free online courses in SEO, e-commerce, and business. That’s when I stumbled across a podcast for what is now a well-known lead group.
I joined, set up my first business, made an Amazon account, and started buying leads. It worked for a while, but as the space grew more competitive, I just grew frustrated. Leads tanked, and I realised that relying on handouts from others wasn’t a sustainable way to build a business.
Experienced sellers kept telling me the same thing: You NEED to learn sourcing to make this work. But no one ever told me exactly how, usually just vague advice about persevering and finding leads that others don't.
So, I kept searching for real guidance - someone who could actually teach me how to build a long-term business. Eventually, I connected with the other Navigators through social media and WhatsApp. Over time, we built relationships, shared knowledge, and ultimately joined forces to create The FBA Navigators.
After a year of struggling to find the right guidance, I know first-hand how difficult this journey can be - but I also know the rewards on the other side. That’s what drives me to help others in this community, making sure they have the real, valuable support I wish I had when I started.

Insights from my Experience

For me, I gain the most fulfilment from business development - exploring new opportunities, scaling solutions, growing my team and increasing my leverage.

My proudest moment so far was starting my TikTok. I’d been holding myself back for so long with imposter syndrome and limiting beliefs but my only thought after starting was that I should have done it when I started.

If I could go back and change one thing it would be to not be scared of commitment. During my first year on Amazon, I wasn’t always committing like I knew I could have and I let lots of opportunity pass me by. So, commit and give it your all.

Advice for Other Sellers

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just getting started with Amazon FBA?

Don’t be afraid to commit. Its scary, especially if its your first business but if you’re willing to make sacrifices for 6, 12, 24 months+ before you see any huge leaps like leaving your job then I truly believe you will be rewarded.

What’s your top tip for someone looking to scale their business?

Get capital and turn it over YESTERDAY. Spin the flywheel as fast as you can and as effectively as you can. Don’t leave your money lying around, especially early on.

What’s the biggest mistake you see sellers make, and how can they avoid it?

Shiny object syndrome. It's easy to get caught by seemingly great opportunities, I’ve done it several times but it will cost you. Not only can it cost money and time but it takes up your mental real estate. Be brutally honest with where you are in your journey and if you’re ready for it.

What does the Navigators mean to me?

For me, this feels like the culmination of years of experience aligning with the right people and an amazing opportunity to make a change in the Amazon space. The status quo needs to be challenged in this space and that's what we are here to do.

We are different to other communities because of the values we follow; trust, integrity and most importantly empowerment.

Our mission is to empower business owners within our sector to have agency through competence, delivered via our education resources and community of like-minded people.

Our vision is to be THE place to be within the Amazon space, by connecting industry leaders and bar raising education to our community.

If there is one thing I want our members to get from this community it is confidence. If our members can grow more confident in business and beyond through the work we do, I will be more than satisfied. The cherry on top would be empowering people to lead their own life and be financially independent, granted that is their goal.

Fun Fact!

I spent almost 2 years working for Amazon Retail. Yep, that Amazon offer that keeps tanking you listing? That was my job. Before you ask, no it didn't reveal all the secrets to making millions from Amazon FBA, it was very different.
